This clinic offers group education one evening a month from 6-8 pm. The clinic is set up in the Rehab room at RMH and is free of charge. Individual smoking sessions are available if a physician books them in.

Physician Support: Dr. Francis Ervin (Internal Medicine, Respirology) and Dr. Winston Tsui (Cardiology and Internal Medicine) support and refer patients to the clinic. The clinic accepts physician and self referrals
Group Facilitators: The lead facilitator/educator is a Respiratory Therapist, Stacy McNeilly, who is a Certified Tobacco Educator. Her Respiratory colleagues Greg Skeeles, also a Certified Tobacco Educator, and Dave Wallace are also involved in the clinic.
Facilitator/Educator Training: Smoking cessation training is required. At RMH staff under took the following:
• Certified Tobacco Educator Course (Stacey and Greg)
• QuitNow full-day workshop conducted David Forbes, Pharmacist (multiple people as 10 were required to run the course)
• TEACH (Tobacco Enhancement in Applied Cessation Counselling and Health) (Stacey)

The Tobacco Dependence Clinic offers up to 26 weeks of behavioural group counselling and no-cost pharmacotherapy. For Vancouver Coastal Health clients with a history of mental illness and/or substance use disorder. Individual clinics may have other criteria for participation.

The Smoking Cessation Clinic offers free individual quit smoking counselling for people who live in Greater Vancouver. It is appropriate for those interested in making a quit attempt but also for those who may be simply exploring their options. This program is about the process of recovery which is unique to each individual. Each person will receive:
*assessment by a doctor or nurse trained in tobacco dependence
*ongoing education, monitoring and counselling support
*information about the options for smoking cessation medications
