This today is my full day of no cigarettes. I had feelings of wanting one this morning but I endured. It is better to go through the withdrawal from the drugs instead of feeding the addiction. I believe I can use the patch until I feel it no longer necessary. I used to smoke in the first 5 minutes. I used to smoke three or more packs a day in my 30s. I have been trying to quit since 1993. I think I will give up trying so that I can do this.

Right, try relaxing. Deep breaths through your nose and exhale through your mouth. There is the option of using nicotine lozenges or gum but be careful with their addictiveness. I hear Fisherman's Friend is a mint you may consider. I used the patch with the thought of lozenges or gum if needed but none were used. Yes, you got this!

Congratulations!! Way to go. The first two weeks after you quit is usually intense as the withdrawal symptoms peak during these times. But remember that better days are ahead and these discomforts are all temporary. Try to drink lots of water as it helps to flush out the toxins and minimize the withdrawal symptoms.  Also, make a list of activities you can do when you have the cravings and plan for some daily rewards that will boost your spirit.
