Well...I quit yesterday at 1pm. Today will be my first full day.  Patch is working well. I also like the lozenges. Because the very first thing I used to do when I got up was smoke, I find that having a lozenge really helped. I slept with the patch on and had very vivid dreams.

    A lot of people find that the patch gives you vivid dreams. I found that taking it off at night, and then put the new one on as soon as I got up made a difference. Definitely use the lozenges to get that first zap of nicotine. Good luck, and Congratulations on taking the first step. You can do this!

    Great work Karen! Another thing I found that helped me for that early morning smoke that I missed so much when I quit was to change up my morning routine just a little. I think it helped distract me. Took my morning shower at a slightly different time and had a glass of juice instead of coffee 1st thing.  New beginnings, new routine.
    Keep up the good work and just take it a day at a time. If you quit for 1 day then you can quit for the next day :)

    Karen,  so glad you found something that works for you.  The first few weeks are somewhat difficult but if you remain determined and motivated,  absolutely doable.  Take it one step and one day at a time and if you find yourself at a roadblock just post us and we'll walk you through it or give the quit coaches a call at 1-877-455-2233 for a plan that may be beneficial to you.  Hope you also had a chance to read some of the posts from former quitters as they contain some excellent tips to remain quit.  Hugs and all the best,  Lucille.

    I've heard that about the patch Karen.  If the dreams get too bad, how about having a patch on your side table and put it on immediately after you wake up? And keep some lozenges there too, so if you're really craving in the morning, you've got two tools available to help you.  Congrats on your first day, hope it's going well for you!
