Hi all you new quitters, I haven't been on in awhile and don't recognize anyone anymore but I thought maybe I'd share my story in hopes it might help some of you. So, it have been 1 year and almost 4 months since I had my last cigarette.  DuMauier Distinct KS was my flavor. When I started smoking 20 plus years ago, they were called DuMauier Light KS. I quit cold turkey with no help for anything else. A pack and day and sometimes more if I was drinking. 2 months after a quit, my wife became pregnant. We had been trying for over year. After she got pregnant,  I was convinced the smokes were killing my boys! Unfortunately,  8 weeks later, we suffered a missed miscarriage... I thought about grabbing a pack after that but I fought against that hard. This was July 2019. Well, we are pregnant again, since Jan with TWINS!!!!! ( Lord help us 😀) which makes me even happier i didn't go back to the smokes or maybe it would have slowed my boys again.
Anyways - to all you new quitters, it ain't easy and life is going to toss some curve balls your way. Just take it 1 day at a time. The hardest for me was the first month. It got easier after that but ill be honest is saying, I still get the odd craving. But not as strong as it was in my first month. I feel great, I even took up biking again! My wife is happy! And preganant with TWINS!!! Did I mention the TWINS!! Bwhahahaha!
Anyways - much love to all of you new quitters and old! One day at a time, one step at a time and before you know it, you'll be out of the nasty thought process of negotiating with yourself as to what one puff will do. N.O.P.E ( Not. ONE. Puff, Ever)
Good Luck all, it will be the best decision you will ever make!!!

Mission Cap, I do remember you, you we’re devastated when your wife had a miscarriage and weren’t sure wether you’d be able to carry on with your quit.  We were concerned when you didn’t come back to the forum to let us know how you and your wife we’re doing.  However it was a very personal time for you and I understood your need for privacy. But look at you know, twins for goodness sake, that’s wonderful news. Congratulations and having been quit for a year + is also a major milestone to celebrate with your wife.  I know how hard you worked to get to this point and I congratulate you on a job well done and on your upcoming fatherhood. Thanks so much for sharing your courageous journey with us.   Stay well and stay safe, hugs Lucille. 👏👍🙋‍♀️💐❤️👨‍👩‍👦‍👦
