Yeah I would say that's kind of a wake-up call when your 8 year old calls you out on your addiction. Just know that you really need to quit for YOU! That's gotta be your motivation. Yes, other loved ones will benefit too but this is one time you need to be selfish. Put all your effort into taking care of you first! Get on it and please don't wait 22 days. Call a quit coach, make a plan and then just quit. You'll be glad you did. Wait too long and you;ll make an excuse to delay even longer or, not quit at all. You and your 8 year old deserve better :)

maluco, out of the mouths of babes.  Your 8 year old needs you to be there for him or her  as he or she  gets older and needs you to set a good example for him or her.  By quitting, you'll be giving yourself a fighting chance at living a much more productive and healthy life.  What better time than now instead of waiting,  as the longer you wait the less chance you'll have of quitting.  Take the bull by the horn, so to speak and start while the getting's good.  You've already taken the first step by joining us on the forum so why not continue.  If you still wish to wait, try to cut down on the amount of cigarettes you smoke in preparation.  We won't pressure you as you are entirely in control but if you need our help, we'll be here.  For a free consultation and chance at formulating a good plan that will be beneficial to you, give the quit coaches a call at 1-877-455-2233.  I promise you won't regret it.  Lucille.

I use Zyban to help me quit -- just 11 days ago. I started taking the pills as directed 2 weeks before my quit date and was able to decrease the amount I smoked by 1/2 by my quit day, which was easier than I expected. I know there will be challenges ahead, but thought you might benefit from my recent experience. I know your pain.
