I have been on and off cigarettes for most of my life, although I don't smoke much, it's a bad habit. I can go for days without smoking and then go back to it..  I need support to keep going!

    LMap, wether you smoke on and off or you're a chain smoker makes no difference to the nicodemon.  He'll keep tempting you with his wiles until you take control and tell him to take a huge hike.  It's an addiction that counts on you to feed it every day.  But you've decided that enough is enough.  Welcome to the forum.  Hope these tips will help you prepare to go forward.  First drink plenty of water to flush the toxins out of your system.  Speak to your pharmacist, unless you decide to go cold turkey,  about nicotine replacement products that are free to you if you are a B.C. resident and have a B.C. Care Card, or you may want to discuss prescriptions with your doctor,  such as Zyban or Champix.  You can also call the Quitnow coaches at 1-877-455-2233 if you wish to formulate a plan, at absolutely no cost to you.  They are well versed on the difficulties of quitting and will offer support and encouragement to see you succeed.  These are only a few tips to get you started,  there are many more to be found from previous posts, if you get a chance please scroll through them.  Congratulations on making this wonderful decision and if you need our help at any time just post us.  We'll help you through it.  Take it one day and one step at a time and remember you're not alone, we'll be here for you.  Hugs and all the best Lucille.

    Thanks Lucille,  I might want to try the gum to keep me at bay and manage anxiety..  Will keep ciaches number close by..  And yes!  Lots of water.. And I have a stress relief roll on that might help!!!
