Well, unfortunately I had a relapse when I went on a trip recently.  I had made it to 4 months when I blew it.  We were camping and for some reason, having fires and sitting around makes me feel like smoking.  Bad excuse I know.  One of the things that I know I need to do is keep busy and normally while at home I have many ways to do this.  Anyways, during the 3+ weeks we were away I smoked at times and other times I didn't, especially around people.  I am still determined to kick this thing.  I've done it before for 2 1/2 years, and a couple of other times for about a year.  I know one of these times it will stick for good.  Just pretty disappointed in myself but I'm still motivated to do this thing.  Quit again on Oct. 6th.

Hey Karen3, it happens, don't be too hard on yourself, I find vacations and social times extremely difficult.  Important thing is, you are trying again.  Good luck.

Karen,  carry on as if it never happened,  you've done it before, you can do it again.  There will probably be a few more dissappointments along the way, just take them in stride and resume your quit.  In other words, just keep trying.  No one here will judge you on your mistakes, that's not what were here for.  If you're determined to do this you'll definitely succeed.  Hugs and all the best, Lucille.

I did that same thing once, Karen.. something about the fire, the relaxed setting of camping. It is disappointing to have a setback, but only to us personally.   As the others have said..just get back on that horse and carry on as if it never happened. You are still determined, and you can do this. All the best to you.

Hi Karen3, please don't beat yourself up due to this disappointment because it is not a failure but a learned lesson. Every previous quit leads you to your final quit so examine what went astray last time and how would you do it differently this time and move forward the path of being smoke free forever is within reach. Congrats on moving forward!

I'm sorry you had a relapse Karen, as you know it's common,  just keep on trying to quit, and for sure, one day you'll succeed.
