So today was my first day with no nicotine at all. I have done the patch for the recommended time, and it definitely helped! I haven't had any cravings per se; but it feels like I have been eating all day! Not normal for me, and I know that I will get over this hurdle too. I have only gained about 5 lbs since I quit smoking, so not too concerned. Feeling pretty damn good otherwise!

Wonderful news Joan, you have reached another milestone in your quit process.  It sounds like you are very determined to stay on track.  Great to hear you are feeling good since quitting.

Joan, that's absolutely wonderful.  Don't worry about the eating at this time, you can deal with it later on, just keep up with your quit for now. You're doing great at 72 days. Congratulations and well done, Lucille.

Wow Joan, way to go!  And boy has the time ever flown.  5 pounds is nothing, good for you.  I think most of us gain quite a bit more than that.  I think you'll find that today (your first day without nicotine) will be easier than what you think.  Keep it up, you're doing great!

Joan1, congrats, you've done very well with your quit, you seem so at peace with everything, it must be your nature, you don't seem to be one of those ranting types when you miss your nicotine.  Not like some of us.  Wishing you continued success!

It's great to be free of nicotine, isn't it? One more step toward a lifetime free from this horrible addiction. Be sure to celebrate this milestone and reward yourself with something a little special. Doesn't have to be anything expensive, just something that makes you happy! Going forward the work continues in terms of retraining your brain to life without smoking. Takes a while to do this but you have beaten the hard parts already. Just remain true to your original commitment to yourself for a smoke free life and you will be free!

Joan, you're welcome but you did most of the work yourself and deserve a high five for it.  Congratulations, Lucille.
