Meet Christine Single
Hi There Quit Smoking Friends. Today I am on Day 11 of not smoking and I feel better each day. I started out using Life Brand patch step 1, and on day 6 which was a Saturday, I dosed off and on all afternoon with the intentions of putting on my patch after I showered, which didn't happen on Sat. So, on Sunday I put on Life brand patch step 2, and so far so good!

I have attempted to quit a few times in the past yea, and after a short time thought I could have the odd cigarette. Well, guess what - I couldn't. I was right back smoking in no time. This time round for health and financial reasons I really want to be a non-smoker. I am almost 58 yrs old and have smoked most of my days since I was 16. I did quit for 3 yrs. when I was 30, but once again had that "one" which led back to many more years of smoking.

I was told several years ago I had the very, very, very early stages of emphazema. I quit for a few months. and then thought they (the doctors) don't know what they're talking about. I had a chest x-ray a few weeks ago and now need to follow up with tests at a hospital. Doesn't look like very, very, very early anymore.

I also purchased a new car for myself on Dec. 22/2010 as my 1992 Toyota was giving me carbon monoxide poisoning as it needed muffler work. I thought I could have car payments for the $250 a month I was spending on cigarettes. So, I rewarded myself first, and than quit and now remind myself each day as I get into my brand new car that I made the right choice. Insanity: driving a beat up old car and smoking in it at $250mth to smoke when I now drive a brand new car at 0% interest for 7 yrs at $270 mth. DAAAAAAA! And am getting healthier for not smoking.

I have also started to eat healthy and have for the first time in about 45 yrs have started eating breakfast, keeping in my mind the H A L T approach. Hungary, Angry, Lonely or Tired. I drink lots of water and try to get to bed at an earlier time. I work f/t and really, really want to succeed this time. So, I'm trying to follow all the positive suggestions on quitting smoking that I can. Thanks for letting me comment on my quit smoking experience on Day 11.
