I've smoked steadily over a 57 year span. Have to say that I've enjoyed this dirty habit, spent a fortune on all kinds of tobacco and never had a desire to really quit until now. Finally decided that I've had enough of this costly habit.
I went in for an annual physical in November of this year and was informed for the 10th time by my Doctor "that I have to quit sometime" as I'm not getting any younger. Left his office at 3PM on November 17th and tossed the package that I had in my pocket away. Went over to London Drugs and loaded up with the strongest nicotine patches that they sell.
Between applying patches daily and chewing lots of gum I'm now proud to say that I've been smoke free for 6 weeks! Really should have stopped years ago when all the negatives were released on smoke products. In the fifties and sixties we all smoked as it was the cool thing to do. Didn't know the dangers back then.
Moral of this story...If I can do this.. you can also!!
