Meet Sara
"I feel so much healthier plus have more money to spend"

Sara started socially smoking in grade nine and gradually became a serious smoker over the years. Starting in grade twelve, she began working at a restaurant that provided her even more opportunity to smoke with co-workers during breaks and after work.

Though Sara had tried to quit numerous times, she wasn’t being completely truthful with her family and some of her friends about the real severity of her addiction – partially because she was lying to herself.

Finally, after two unsuccessful quit efforts, she admitted the problem to her family, and finally to herself as well. She went to a doctor and got a prescription for Champix and set out with a quit date in mind and the full support of friends and family.

Now having successfully quit for almost 6 months, Sara feels healthier, has more money, can taste food properly, and doesn’t smell like cigarettes. “Most importantly, I can hold and hug my baby niece anytime I want without worrying about poisoning her with second hand smoke and knowing that I can set a good example for her.”
