Welcome
As healthcare providers, you have an integral role to play in helping your clients/patients who smoke to quit. Evidence shows that even a brief intervention– that is simply talking to them about tobacco use - can increase the likelihood that they will quit smoking by 30 percent. This section of the QuitNow.ca website will continue evolving in order to better meet your needs.

3 minutes or less can save lives.Talk to your clients about smoking.

The gold standard for brief intervention in tobacco cessation is the Clinical Practice Guideline – Ask-Advise-Assess-Assist-Arrange protocol. But for busy professional practices, the modified 3As approach will also motivate your clients to quit – and can be accomplished in 1 to 3 minutes.

Simply:
1.    Ask your clients/patients about tobacco use
2.    Advise them to Quit
3.    Arrange Referral to QuitNow Services

Health care providers can refer patients through our Fax Referral Program or "prescribe" patients to call QuitNow By Phone.
